GEORGE SOUTH JR'S WEEKEND WITH TERRY FUNK
Friday night (before Lenoir), Michael from Highspots let me go to his store and meet Terry Funk. He was so nice to me.
When I was younger I would take every wrestling figure I had and paint them like Terry Funk and send them to him. When he first saw me he said, "You're the boy who sent me those figures!" We talked more about me and my dad and I got some stuff signed.

Saturday night as Terry Funk was walking back from the ring, he saw me and Chris Hefner standing there. I was chanting "Terry Funk!"; he stopped and looked at me then hit me. I took a bump and then he threw me into the door, then he beat me back into the dressing room. When we got in the back, he said "Thank you, Jr. I'm sorry about the potato." We were just so close to the fans that he had to make it look real. He hugged my neck and said he was sorry. He kept on apologizing. Finally, as a joke, I said he could make it up to me by giving me his headband. He said "Here Jr., take it, its yours, you deserve it."

It wasn't planned for him to hit me, but in a weird way I honestly believe that he did it as a favor for me. Earlier Saturday afternoon, I told him I wanted to work him in a match. He said something like "you got it." I was just in the right place at the right time.
Terry Funk is my favorite wrestler and that's definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me in wrestling.
