NWA Jr. Heavyweight Belt

as worn by Denny Brown and others during the 1980s

NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship Belt

This is the original NWA World Jr. Heavyweight title belt. It’s what the fans liked to call the "Burger King" belt (laughs). I have it in this case with a picture of Denny that he signed to my son. He defeated Mike Davis for this belt.

This was a title that really meant something at one time. (Editor’s note: Denny defended the title in some of the other NWA territories and actually headlined a series of cards for Southeast Wrestling in early 1985 in Alabama an Florida, wresting in a double main event with Ric Flair also defending the heavyweight title in a “Night of Champions” series that went around that territory.)  I used to love it when Flair would commentate during Denny’s matches on TV and put him over saying that just like him, Denny was defending the Jr. Heavyweight title all over the world. I always thought that was pretty neat.
